Vegan Chocolate Mousse Dessert.

Avocado has never tasted so good. Yes, avocado. In the form of chocolate. Does it get any better than that? After dinner I sometimes crave sweets, and so when this happens I usually make some sort of healthy dessert. Last week I had half an avocado just wasting away in the fridge and I wanted to put it to good use. Chocolate mousse sounded perfect, so out came the food processor and in went the avocado, along with half a frozen banana, 3 dates, soy milk, and cocoa powder. Those 5 ingredients yielded the most amazing chocolate mousse I have ever tasted. Yes, even better than non-vegan, 40-ingredient, sugar overload, restaurant-made, preservative-filled [are you getting the point yet?] chocolate mousse.

The best part about my concoction is that it is completely clean and healthy, so there’s no regret when you’re done. It’s amazingly indulgent, yet not really. It sounds [and looks] almost too good to be true, so you’ll have to try it for yourself. But, really, I’m not lying to you when I say it’s ah-maze-ing.

Haute + Healthy Vegan Chocolate Mousse Dessert Ingredients (makes 1 serving, you will probably want to quarduple this!):

  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 3 dates, pitted
  • 3 tablespoons soy milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Directions: Place all ingredients in a food processor or blender. Mix on high until completely blended and smooth. You may want to stop and mix with a spoon a few times to scrape ingredients off the side of processor. Once smooth, spoon into a martini glass and chill in the fridge for at least 10 minutes. 2. This is crazy good! I am so happy to have found a recipe that does not contain any type of artificial sweetener – it means that I can even serve this to my mom, who has diabetes, without her blood sugar going through the roof. I am hooked and from now on this will without a doubt be my go-to dessert recipe 🙂
